Gregor Kobel passed fit to face Eintracht Frankfurt

Gregor Kobel had been a doubt for Borussia Dortmund’s first game of 2026 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday night after the goalkeeper left his club’s training camp early due to illness and minor back problems.

However, according to Sky Germany, Kobel has now been given the green light to play, with the decision made in consultation with the medical staff and coaching team.

The Swiss international should therefore start in goal when Dortmund face Eintracht in the first Bundesliga game of 2026 tonight.

The 28-year-old shot-stopper has featured in all 24 of Dortmund’s matches so far this season.
