Emirates has announced the introduction of additional daily services from Dubai to Copenhagen, Phuket and Cape Town as part of its upcoming schedule enhancements. The expanded operations are set to begin between June and July and will be operated using the airline’s Airbus A350 aircraft. These additional flights increase overall capacity while offering passengers access to Premium Economy, alongside updated Business and Economy Class cabins.
The new services are timed to align with rising seasonal travel demand and are structured to complement existing schedules on each route. By adding extra daily frequencies, Emirates is increasing connectivity through its Dubai hub while maintaining continuity across its established network.
New Daily Frequencies Introduced Across Three Markets
From 1 June, a second daily Emirates service will operate between Dubai and Copenhagen. The new flight, operating as EK153, is scheduled to depart Dubai at 14:50 and arrive in Copenhagen at 19:45. The return service, EK154, will depart Copenhagen at 21:35 and arrive in Dubai at 05:55 the following day.
From 1 July, a third daily service will be added between Dubai and Phuket. The outbound flight, EK390, is scheduled to depart Dubai at 22:40 and arrive in Phuket at 08:10 the following morning. The return leg, EK391, will depart Phuket at 10:00 and arrive in Dubai at 13:05.
Also effective from 1 July, Emirates will introduce a third daily frequency between Dubai and Cape Town. Flight EK778 is scheduled to depart Dubai at 10:25 and arrive in Cape Town at 18:05. The return service, EK779, will depart Cape Town at 20:00 and arrive in Dubai at 07:25 the next day.
All three additional daily services will be operated using Airbus A350 aircraft.
Expanded Connections Through Dubai for Global Travelers
The newly introduced Copenhagen service is scheduled to support onward connections through Dubai to East Asia, including Bangkok, Bali, Manila, Tokyo Haneda and Phuket. Additional connectivity is also available to Colombo and Male. The schedule further allows access to African destinations such as Nairobi and Entebbe.
Passengers travelling from cities including Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Delhi and Bangalore are expected to benefit from the added frequency, with improved connection options through Dubai to the Danish capital.
For travelers heading to Phuket, the additional daily flight offers early morning arrivals, supporting connections from European cities including Manchester, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Frankfurt, as well as from Kuwait and Bahrain via Dubai. Return connections from Phuket through Dubai provide access to European and Middle Eastern gateways such as Madrid, Munich, Birmingham, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Edinburgh, Zurich and Amman.
The third daily service to Cape Town provides optimized connections for passengers travelling to and from London, Dublin, Mumbai, Brussels, Australasia and several Asian markets, serving both leisure and business travel flows.
Supporting Travel Demand During Peak Summer Periods
The introduction of additional daily services reflects a broader focus on meeting increased passenger movement during peak travel periods. With summer traditionally seeing higher volumes across long-haul routes, the added capacity allows travelers more flexibility in planning journeys while maintaining consistent service availability.
By increasing frequencies rather than introducing entirely new routes, the expanded schedule reinforces existing travel corridors and supports smoother travel planning across multiple regions. The deployment of widebody aircraft with multiple cabin options also accommodates varying travel preferences without altering route structures.
Enhanced Onboard Options for Long-Haul Travelers
The use of Airbus A350 aircraft across all three routes ensures consistency in onboard offerings. Passengers across Copenhagen, Phuket and Cape Town services will have access to Premium Economy seating, alongside updated Business and Economy Class cabins.
This aircraft deployment aligns with Emirates’ continued rollout of new and retrofitted aircraft across its global network. The expanded use of the A350 further standardizes onboard products while supporting operational efficiency on long-haul services.
Continued Fleet Deployment Across the Global Network
Beyond the three routes receiving additional frequencies, Emirates continues to deploy both its retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft and new A350 aircraft to destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. This ongoing rollout brings Premium Economy seating and updated cabin products to a wider range of cities within the airline’s existing network.
The added daily services to Copenhagen, Phuket and Cape Town form part of this broader fleet strategy, increasing capacity while maintaining alignment with current route structures and schedules.
