Saudi Arabia Expands Hospitality With Marriott International’s New Hotel Projects In Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah And More

In a step that is expected to considerably improve the Kingdom’s hospitality infrastructure, Al Qimmah Hospitality and Marriott International have entered into agreements for five new hotels in the cities of Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. The new projects, which will bring more than 2,700 rooms to the area, are expected to consolidate Saudi Arabia’s status as a top international tourism destination. This partnership highlights the continual attempts to provide high-standard lodging that will keep pace with the demand, which is a direct result of the country’s ambitious tourism growth plans.

Major Hotel Projects to Elevate Hospitality in Saudi Arabia

The deal between Al Qimmah Hospitality, a subsidiary of BinDawood Investment, and Marriott International will see the debut of several renowned brands in the Kingdom, including JW Marriott, Four Points by Sheraton, Element Hotels, and the new Four Points Flex by Sheraton. These new properties are slated for Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah, with Marriott planning to expand its portfolio significantly in these key pilgrimage cities.

Marriott’s recent milestone of 100 combined open and pipeline hotels in Saudi Arabia highlights the brand’s long-standing commitment to the Kingdom. The company has been a fixture in the country for over four decades and now operates 44 properties with over 11,000 rooms across 13 different brands.

Expanding Jeddah’s Hospitality Scene: JW Marriott and Four Points by Sheraton

Jeddah, one of Saudi Arabia’s bustling metropolitan cities and a gateway for pilgrims arriving at the holy sites, will benefit from a new addition to the JW Marriott portfolio. JW Marriott Jeddah, The Apartments, located on Jeddah’s scenic Corniche Road, will feature 356 studio and one-to-three-bedroom apartments. Designed for extended-stay travellers, these apartments will come equipped with kitchens, separate living areas, and a full suite of amenities, including dining options, a fitness centre, swimming pool, and children’s club. The development is set to enhance the city’s appeal to both leisure and business travellers, offering upscale accommodations alongside Marriott’s luxurious standards.

In Makkah, Four Points by Sheraton Shesha will provide 1,030 rooms close to the iconic Masjid Al Haram, a key draw for Muslim pilgrims. The hotel will feature a variety of dining options, including the Grab n’ Go concept and signature Nitro Brews programme, making it ideal for both short-term and long-term stays. The Four Points brand promises timeless comfort with modern amenities such as a fitness centre and meeting facilities. This property will cater to the growing demand for accommodation in the vicinity of Makkah’s most revered religious sites.

Elevating Madinah’s Hospitality with Element Hotels and Four Points Flex by Sheraton

Madinah, home to the Prophet’s Mosque, will also see notable additions to its hospitality sector. The Element Madinah Sultana Road hotel will offer 136 spacious studios and apartments, making it perfect for both short-term and long-term stays. The hotel will feature in-room kitchens, spa-inspired bathrooms, and a fitness centre. Brand signature amenities, such as the Rise breakfast and Restore Grab & Go, will provide healthy and convenient meal options for guests. Element’s commitment to wellness and comfort aligns with the needs of both business and leisure visitors to Madinah.

Additionally, the anticipated Four Points Flex by Sheraton Madinah Hijrah Road marks Marriott’s first foray into the midscale segment in Saudi Arabia. The 450-room property, located in Madinah’s Al Amariyah district, is set to provide a cost-effective, quality hotel experience with streamlined services and a focus on guest convenience. With its easy access to the Prophets Mosque, this hotel will cater to the needs of visitors seeking comfortable and affordable lodging during their spiritual journeys.

Saudi Arabia’s Hospitality Growth: A Key Enabler for Tourism

These new hotels represent a major leap forward in Saudi Arabia’s drive to become a global tourism hub. The expansion of world-class accommodation options will meet the growing demand for high-quality lodging from both regional and international tourists. Al Qimmah Hospitality and Marriott’s joint venture is perfectly aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and reduce the country’s dependence on oil by boosting sectors like tourism.

The country’s pilgrimage tourism, combined with its burgeoning leisure and business tourism, has seen a sharp rise in demand for hospitality services, especially in Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah. The introduction of internationally recognised brands such as JW Marriott, Four Points by Sheraton, and Element Hotels further enhances the appeal of these cities as key destinations for both religious and leisure travellers.

A Promising Future for Saudi Arabia’s Hospitality Sector

This partnership between Al Qimmah Hospitality and Marriott International not only strengthens the Kingdom’s hospitality sector but also reinforces its status as a leading tourism destination in the region. The developments are expected to contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and boosting the surrounding tourism-related services, including transport, retail, and leisure activities.

By adding these properties, Saudi Arabia is showing up its determination to not only satisfy the growing need for luxurious hotels but also to provide visitors with an enriching experience throughout their stay. The investments in the tourism infrastructure in the Kingdom would be facilitated by such projects and thus, the diversification of the economy and the global positioning of the country as a top destination would be more quickly achieved.
