These standards outline the highest levels of food handling and preparation. Passing this certification proves that the establishment in question has excelled in the sanitation processes.

The evaluation process for the Sunset World Group happened between the 1st and 6th of December, 2025, with a specific evaluation for one hotel scheduled for each day. Sunset Fishermen was evaluated first on the 1st, and then Laguna Suites on the 2nd, Sunset Marina on the 3rd, Ocean Spa on the 4th, and finally Sunset Royal on the 6th. This process included a comprehensive assessment in the form of several tests and inspections to check every step of the food safety process, starting from the receipt of the ingredients all the way to serving the guests.

The most important thing to note from this certification process is that three out of five hotels (Sunset Royal, Sunset Marina, and Sunset Fishermen) scored hotels achieved a perfect score. The hotels, in fact, are stellar in food receiving, preparation, storage and overall cleanliness control.

Finally, the certification process ends with a thorough evaluation conducted jointly by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health, in which each facility must achieve a minimum of 90% compliance to the 13 criteria in order to earn certification. Three of Sunset World Group’s hotels earning perfect scores is a testament to the effectiveness of these training programs, as well as the dedication of the staff to food safety.
