UNC has a lot going on over there

Michael Lombardi, a cantankerous buffoon and also UNC’s football GM, resigned from his position today after a month on administrative leave, but that’s not all! They got a lot going on in Chapel Hill these days, let me tell you. I don’t know where they find the time for all of this stuff:

Lawyers hired to conduct the investigation are also questioning people about whether defensive coordinator Steve Belichick used drugs on the job or provided drugs to at least one player — and, separately, about whether a member of UNC’s recruiting staff had a sexual relationship with a player, people familiar with the investigation told WRAL. The lawyers also asked about possible sexual relationships between assistant coaches and recruiting staff, the people said.

A possible drug scandal and a possible sex scandal at the same time, wow. On the bright side, at least there isn’t another parking scandal involved. That would be one hell of a triple play, though.

Despite all of this stuff, UNC still managed to win a football game to begin the season. Just think about what these guys might be able to accomplish if they ever managed to kick their addiction to breaking an astonishingly wide variety of rules and/or laws. Perhaps the school will consider this option with the next head coach. Don’t think they’re going to manage to alter the culture that’s on hand at the moment.
