JetBlue has opened bookings for its new BlueFirst first-class cabin across more than 30 routes from 15 October 2026, introducing a premium travel option linking Boston, New York and Fort Lauderdale with destinations across the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia and the Caribbean. The service will launch on 8 December 2026 between Boston and Fort Lauderdale, with introductory one-way fares starting at US$249. The expansion aims to meet demand for greater comfort, improved onboard services and more premium choices on routes without the airline’s existing Mint business-class product.

The launch marks another stage in JetBlue’s premium travel development. The airline is extending its first-class offering beyond selected long-distance services by introducing a dedicated cabin on aircraft that do not operate with Mint. The phased introduction will continue into April 2027, bringing enhanced seating, dining, entertainment and airport services to a wider selection of leisure and business destinations.

Boston and Fort Lauderdale Lead JetBlue’s New First-Class Expansion

Boston Logan International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will become the first airports connected by BlueFirst when the inaugural revenue service begins on 8 December. The daily connection links two important JetBlue markets. Fort Lauderdale also holds historical significance as the airline’s first destination, making it the starting point for its latest premium cabin development.

Services between Fort Lauderdale and New York’s LaGuardia Airport will follow from 12 December. Further routes will be introduced as additional aircraft receive the new cabin. JetBlue has selected its initial destinations based on demand for premium travel, including popular leisure markets. The rollout will cover major US cities alongside established holiday destinations in Central America and the Caribbean. The new cabin will complement Mint rather than replace it, creating a separate premium product for shorter journeys and routes where Mint is unavailable.

JetBlue Introduces First-Class Fares Starting at US$249

To mark the opening of reservations, JetBlue has announced limited introductory fares across three routes. The lowest advertised fare is US$249 one-way between New York LaGuardia and Fort Lauderdale, available for selected travel from 12 December 2026 to 10 February 2027. Passengers travelling between Boston and Fort Lauderdale can access introductory fares from US$299 one-way, covering selected journeys between 8 December 2026 and 10 February 2027.

A further promotional fare of US$299 one-way applies to selected flights from New York JFK to Liberia, Costa Rica, for travel between 5 January and 10 February 2027. All three offers require bookings by 11.59 pm Eastern Time on 16 October 2026. Availability is limited, with blackout periods covering selected Christmas, New Year and January holiday dates. The promotional prices include government taxes and fees, although optional service charges and applicable fare conditions may affect the final cost.

Costa Rica, Mexico and the Caribbean Join the Premium Travel Network

JetBlue’s BlueFirst expansion extends beyond domestic US travel, with several international leisure destinations included in the initial schedule. In Costa Rica, Liberia will be among the earliest international markets, with Fort Lauderdale services planned from December 2026 and New York JFK connections from January 2027. San José will also join the Fort Lauderdale network in January. Mexico will enter the rollout through Cancún, with New York JFK services scheduled from January 2027, followed by Fort Lauderdale in February and Boston in April.

The Caribbean expansion includes Aruba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos. Fort Lauderdale will gain BlueFirst connections to Aruba and San Juan in January, followed by Santo Domingo in February. New York JFK will introduce Aruba and Providenciales services in February, while Boston will add San Juan in April. Colombia is also included, with Cartagena scheduled from January and Medellín from March, both connected to Fort Lauderdale. These additions will extend premium cabin availability across established holiday markets without requiring the introduction of Mint-equipped aircraft.

New BlueFirst Cabin Brings More Space, Dining and Entertainment

BlueFirst introduces a dedicated two-by-two seating configuration, offering passengers more personal space than the standard Main cabin. The seats feature Tuft & Needle T&N Flex foam, five inches of recline and up to seven inches of additional legroom compared with Main seating. Entertainment improvements include 13.3-inch seatback screens, Bluetooth connectivity and JetBlue’s Blueprint entertainment platform.

On flights covering at least 899 miles, passengers will receive the airline’s FirstFare dining experience, featuring a main course, side dish and dessert. Premium snacks will be available throughout BlueFirst services. The drinks selection includes curated wines, speciality coffee and premium teas. Passengers will also be able to browse onboard options, select meals and customise cocktails through their entertainment screens. Airport benefits include Group 1 boarding, priority check-in, dedicated overhead storage and expedited security at more than 30 participating airports.

Three BlueFirst Fare Options Offer Different Levels of Flexibility

JetBlue has structured BlueFirst around three booking categories: BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex. BlueFirst Base provides a lower-priced entry point, including one checked bag, priority services and complimentary seat selection within 24 hours of departure. Changes and cancellations remain subject to applicable fees. The standard BlueFirst fare includes two checked bags, complimentary advance seat selection and no change or cancellation fees.

BlueFirst Flex adds greater flexibility, including refunds to the original payment method for eligible cancellations before departure and fee-free same-day switches and standby. All three categories include one carry-on bag, one personal item and Group 1 boarding. The structure allows passengers to select different combinations of baggage, seat selection and booking flexibility while retaining the central BlueFirst cabin experience.

TrueBlue Loyalty Benefits Expand Alongside the New Cabin

JetBlue is also updating its TrueBlue Mosaic loyalty programme to support the introduction of BlueFirst. Existing Move to Mint certificates will evolve into Premium Upgrade Certificates, allowing eligible members to redeem upgrades for either Mint or BlueFirst, subject to availability and redemption requirements. Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members will receive certificates through their membership benefits.

Eligible Mosaic customers will also qualify for complimentary space-available BlueFirst upgrades before departure, depending on remaining seats. Passengers travelling on Main Base and EvenMore Base fares will not qualify for these complimentary upgrades. The changes expand the range of premium experiences available through JetBlue’s loyalty programme.

JetBlue’s Premium Strategy Creates More Choice Across Leisure Markets

BlueFirst forms part of JetBlue’s broader JetForward strategy, alongside its EvenMore seating product, Mint business class and BlueHouse lounges in New York and Boston. The planned rollout creates additional premium seating options across domestic and international leisure routes, particularly those connecting major US cities with Florida, Central America and the Caribbean.

However, the airline has not announced specific forecasts for additional tourist arrivals or destination spending resulting from BlueFirst. The published schedule extends through April 2027, with further destinations including Denver, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and West Palm Beach. BlueFirst availability may initially vary by flight and date as aircraft installations continue. The programme therefore represents a phased expansion rather than an immediate introduction across every JetBlue service. With reservations now open, JetBlue is positioning BlueFirst as an additional premium travel choice across its growing network of US, Caribbean and Latin American destinations.
