Former Ryder Cup star Chris Wood rolled back the years on Egypt’s North Coast, securing the Marassi 1 title in a high-stakes sudden-death playoff.
The Englishman held his nerve at the Address Marassi Golf Resort to defeat compatriot Charlie Crockett after both players finished the second event of the 2026 Egypt Golf Series locked at 13 under par.
Chris Wood, 38, showcased his experience by carding a clinical birdie on the first extra hole to separate himself from the field and claim the trophy.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” Wood said following the win. “It was a real battle out there today. I had to maintain a high level of focus during those closing moments, and it really was a collective effort to get over the line.”
Ireland’s Alex Maguire rounded out the podium in third place after an impressive week of scoring.
The result further cements the MENA Tour’s growing reputation as a key fixture for professional golf in the Middle East, with the Egypt Golf Series continuing to attract top-tier international talent.
