Philippine Airlines Unveils New A350-1000 Interiors for Long-Haul Travel

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has presented its first Airbus A350-1000 cabin design, which establishes new benchmarks for transpacific long-distance travel. The airline reaches a new milestone through this announcement because it becomes the first Southeast Asian airline to operate this advanced aircraft model. The A350-1000, which accommodates 382 passengers, will improve travel comfort through its upgraded facilities on flights to North America and other destinations.

A Step Forward in PAL’s Long-Haul Fleet Expansion

The Airbus A350-1000 is the latest addition to Philippine Airlines’ growing fleet of modern aircraft. As part of its plan to strengthen long-haul operations, PAL will welcome five A350-1000 aircraft in 2026, with three more arriving in 2027. These aircraft will primarily serve transpacific routes connecting the Philippines to the United States and Canada. The A350’s extended range and fuel efficiency are expected to offer passengers more direct flight options between Manila and major cities in North America.

PAL’s decision to introduce this cutting-edge aircraft highlights the airline’s commitment to enhancing passenger comfort, while improving operational efficiency on long-distance international flights.

Designed for Passenger Comfort: The Interior Features

The A350-1000 features a three-class configuration, which includes business class, premium economy, and economy class, with the total seat count at 382. The business class cabin, named “Mabuhay Studios,” boasts 42 full-flat suites that are designed for ultimate privacy and comfort. Each suite is equipped with sliding doors for added seclusion, direct aisle access, a 20-inch 4K IFE screen, and several charging ports, including USB-A and USB-C options. The cabin’s sleek design combines slate blue and champagne gold finishes, which creates a calm and luxurious atmosphere for passengers.

Premium economy provides ample space with reclining seats, leg and footrests, and 13.3-inch 4K IFE screens, ensuring passengers enjoy a comfortable journey with access to modern connectivity features like in-flight Wi-Fi and full flight messaging.

In economy class, passengers will appreciate the 32-inch seat pitch, generous recline, and adjustable headrests. Additionally, seats are equipped with USB-A and USB-C charging ports, and the cabin offers built-in holders for personal devices, enhancing convenience for all travellers.

A Fresh Take on Cabin Aesthetics

Collaborating with LIFT Aero Design, Tokyo-based studio, PAL has styled the interiors with a refined, modern aesthetic inspired by the airline’s “Sunrise” motif. This theme reflects the Philippines’ tropical beauty, with design elements such as partition walls and carpets featuring oceanic colours. The premium business class seats are adorned with elegant details, including pale wood-look inlays and brushed silver logos, creating a sense of warmth and sophistication. The mood lighting system in the A350-1000 offers 22 different lighting scenes that range from relaxation modes to celebratory lighting, adapting to the needs of passengers during various phases of the flight.

Enhanced Cabin Features for Long-Haul Journeys

Aside from the luxurious cabin finishes, PAL’s A350-1000 introduces advanced in-flight entertainment options. Passengers in business and premium economy classes will enjoy high-definition 4K screens with access to an extensive selection of films, music, and other media. The airline has also added mood lighting scenarios designed to match various in-flight experiences, including options like Candlelight Dining for long-haul flights and the Rose Gold setting for regional services.

Sustainability and Efficiency: A Step Towards Greener Aviation

The A350-1000 brings enhanced fuel efficiency to PAL’s fleet, reducing the environmental footprint of the airline’s long-haul operations. The Airbus A350-1000 is known for its lightweight design, which contributes to a reduction in fuel consumption by up to 25 percent compared to older aircraft types. This is a crucial factor in the airline’s ongoing commitment to sustainable aviation practices.

A New Era for Philippine Airlines

Philippine Airlines begins its future through modern air travel experiences and long-haul aircraft operations with the introduction of the A350-1000. The new aircraft provides passengers with a comfortable travel experience because its design, cabin space and entertainment systems create a smooth journey. The A350-1000 delivers PAL as a dominant force in Southeast Asian aviation because it enables more environmentally friendly and fuel-saving flight operations. The airline will offer better services to passengers who travel across the Pacific Ocean after it starts operating its new North American flights.
