No. 19 Tennessee (9-3) defeated East Tennessee State (9-3), 7-1, on Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Left-handed pitcher Blaine Brown (0-0) started for Tennessee. He faced three batters in the first inning and allowed one run (one earned), two walks and hit one batter. Brown totaled 12 pitches, including two strikes.
Brady Frederick (2-0) pitched three innings of relief and earned his second win of the season. He totaled three strikeouts and 37 pitches (25 strikes) against 10 batters.
Tennessee’s offense totaled 11 hits, including one home run from Henry Ford. Brown also had one double and one RBI.
Tennessee leads the all-time baseball series, 71-21, against ETSU.
The Vols will return to action on Wednesday to continue a six-game homestand. Tennessee will host Oakland at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. EST (SEC Network+).
